Summertime

Well, it is going to feel like summer again this week. Up in the upper 90's by the end of the week, they say. I really have preferred the 70's and low 80's we have been experiencing. It needs to rain here in central Iowa, though. The yard is seriously brown and crusty. We're too cheap to water the lawn. It would just make the weeds grow more anyway!

Let's see... what's been going on this summer? Couple weeks ago we went to the David Cook concert at the Great Jones County Fair. He is seriously hot! Very nice to look at! Mel got to shake his hand b/c Jerry has inside connections at the fair. SO jealous. Well, she had been stalking him all day... ;)

That weekend we also learned that we will be expecting a new niece or nephew in January! Gary came in the room at Mom and Dad's house wearing a shirt that said "First Child" and Brendan was wearing "Middle Child." Gary told us what that meant and then said, "but we aren't supposed to tell anyone, yet!" What a sweetie!

Matt is between classes right now and will start up again in a few weeks. While he is off, we are taking a long weekend to Omaha. Neither of us has ever been to Omaha, so we decided to check it out. We've looked online for things to do and think that we can fill a weekend. I'm really just looking forward to time off of work and staying in a hotel!!!

Well, my sniffles are getting the best of me so best get ready for bed soon.

Sorry for the long overdue post!
