Hawkeyes lost (to ISU at that! What a sucky game!!). Vikings lost. Monti Panthers lost. But... UNI Panthers won, Southeast Polk Rams won, and Newton Cardinals won. So, about a 50/50 football weekend.
Productive weekend! Saturday morning, we went to WDM at had breakfast at Panera (of course!). Went to Earl May and bought a purple aster and a pinkish/mauve mum. Also, picked up some stuff at Target (of course!). We came home and planted the new plants in the rocks in front of the house. We also tore out the bricks and rocks at the corners of the driveway, added some dirt (dirt really is dirt cheap!), and threw down some grass seed Hopefully, the grass will grow. We also tore out the sandbox under our deck and threw the rocks from the driveway under there. The sandbox will go out for citywide clean-up day. Then, Matt mowed the lawn while I primed the new shed door (Dad came out this summer and made us a new shed door). We then cleaned up and went to the Hilltop on the east side of Des Moines for dinner. Yummy! Then, off to Lowe's to pick up our new sink, garbage disposal, and faucet. Not sure yet when the countertop and everything will be installed.
Sunday, we painted the shed. We got three sides done and ran out of paint. We tried to match the color of the siding on the house, but we may be a little too light and too yellow. Oh well, the shed already looks better and brighter. We'll need to finish the backside next weekend.
So, that was our busy and productive weekend. It feels really good to get stuff like this done!

Good job getting all of your stuff done! That does feel good. I'm quite productive myself while Jerry is gone.
BTW...I was TOTALLY stoked when I opened up the Gazette and saw that ISU spanked Iowa. Totally pumped. ISU rules, dammit. Damn, that is just so awesome. Funny that they lose to UNI and then turn around and win against Iowa. Love it love it love it.
