We should have known that ceramic tiles wouldn't just jump off the wall when you ask them to. We started trying to pry the ceramic tile backsplash off of the wall in the kitchen in preparation for the new counters. We knew it wouldn't be incredibly easy, but we had NO idea it would be so hard! We were not prepared for the fact that removing tiles from drywall would damage the drywall. Duh. Apparently, when they remove tile on the HGTV shows, it isn't glued directly to drywall. They always make it look sooo easy on TV.
Now we will have to have the drywall repaired before the new backsplash can be installed. The logisitics of the whole thing will be a nightmare! The counter people, the plumber, the drywall people... Hopefully, it will be all over soon, but probably not. We will also have to take down a border and then paint when all of that is said and done. Bleh!

Oh no! Now, if they would have only put in cool tile to start with, this wouldn't be an issue!
Bummer! Some of mine fell off by themselves! Guess I was just lucky! NOT - I should have glued them back on for the next person. What will your new backsplash be? You will quickly learn there is no such thing as an 'easy' home improvement project! I know that all too well! Thanks for sharing.
