Last weekend

Saturday, we went west and ate at Panera. Then, we went to Target. Don't ask why we went all the way to West Des Moines to do these two things, but oh well. Came home and touched up some paint in the dining room, read the paper, paid some bills, etc. At about 3 pm we left for the CR area. We ate supper at Steak 'n Shake (love the chili!) and stopped at Menard's. Then headed over to Marion for Leah's 7th birthday party. She got a Nintendo DS for her birthday, so she was having a good time with that. She also received a lot of crafty type items, so she should be quite busy.

We drove to Monticello after the party and stayed at Bill and Nina's. We ate breakfast with them and played a game of dominoes. Then we went to Grandma Lange's house for lunch. Grandma has her name on a list for a senior citizen apartment. We started going through some of the stuff in her house after lunch. In the 30 minutes we worked, we filled a garbage bag and a half and started a garage sale box. I have a feeling we'll be back to help clean and toss some more. Headed home Sunday afternoon and lazed the rest of the evening.

Started my second week with my student this week. It seems to be going fine. His notes are a ton better than mine were at that stage in my education. Heck, some of them are even better than my notes now! He gets to observe a total hip surgery tomorrow. I haven't even seen a total hip surgery! (two total knees, though). Our orthopedic surgeon is leaving in a few weeks. This is a total blow to our hospital family. He is a really good surgeon and does a lot of total knees and hips. This will really affect a lot of departments in our hospital.

Next, weekend I have to work. Bleh. Hopefully, just a few hours in the morning. Especially on Saturday since we have a baby shower in the afternoon and Matt's work holiday party in the evening. We do nothing most of the time, but this Saturday we have three things to do!!
