Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there. Hey, piggy mothers count, too! Hope you all had a wonderful day.

We had a busy weekend. Friday night, we went to the Iowa Cubs game. It was a wonderful night for baseball. It was clear and cool. The Cubbies won 3-0. After the game, there was a pretty impressive fireworks show. Every Friday home game ends with fireworks. Neat.

Saturday, we got up early and headed west. We ate breakfast at Panera in West Des Moines. Yummy! We haven't been there for a month or so. Then we had to stop at the bank, then begin our day of shopping. We sure did our best to stimulate the economy with our $1200 stimulus check that W sent us.

First stop was JC Penney. We both got some new summer clothes. It sure feels good to wear smaller sizes, but it gets pricey in a hurry. Good thing JCP had some pretty awesome sales going on. Then, when we got to the register, the nice cashier lady gave us some coupons from the paper to use. That was sweet. Still cost us a fortune, but every cent helps.

When we left the mall, we went to the JC Penney Home Store. There, we found some good deals (more coupons!) on curtains and sheers for the living room and master bedroom. Yippee, no more rattling vinyl blinds!! We got some green curtains with beige sheers for the living room, and a beige curtain with white sheers for the bedroom. We hung them up today. They look nice.

Went on a great sofa search again and came out empty handed. I think we are finding out that the type of sofa we want costs more than we want to pay!

I also found two pairs of shoes!! Holy cow, two pairs! That is unheard of! One is a pair like those cute little Sketchers with the little straps over the top, but they aren't Sketchers b/c they don't have my size. Those should work well with capris. Then I also found a pair of tennis shoes. I wasn't in dire need of tennis shoes, but when I can find women's athletic shoes that fit, I buy them!

Saturday evening, we were installed as new memebers at our church. Twenty new families were installed over the weekend, so that gives you an idea of how huge this church is.

We spent Sunday doing laundry, hanging curtains, and other assorted tasks. Also went for a walk and read the paper. Nothing too special.

Have a good week everyone!

(Today's post was a joint effort between Matt and Des.)

Sounds like you had a fun weekend! Nice picture of Oliver! He appears to be growing and well adjusted to the Kray household. Enjoy the week ahead. love, rah
